Mutton Curry

Mutton Curry
Preparation Time: 1:30mins
Serves: 6-8 Nos
Goes well with - Rice, Idly, Dosa, Chapati, Ragi Ball.

Ingredients:

  • Mutton/Lamb                  – 1 Kg
  • Onion(Medium)              – 3 Nos.
  • Tomato Puree (Large)    – 3 Nos.
  • Ginger                              – 2 Inches
  • Garlic                                – 1 Bulb
  • Green Chillies                  – 3 Nos.
  • Cloves                               – 4Nos
  • Green Cardamom           – 3Nos
  • Cinnamon                        – 1 Small piece
  • Cumin seeds                   – 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper                   – 2 tsp
  • Coriander seeds             – 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves                   – 2 Strands
  • Coriander Leaves           – 5 Strands
  • Yogurt/ Curd                   – 3 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder            – 1 tbsp  
  • Red chilli Powder            – 1 tbsp (Add More if required)
  • Coriander Powder          – 2 tbsp
  • Mutton Masala powder – 3tbsp
  • Water                               – 500 ml (It depends)
  • Cooking Oil                     – 50 ml
  • Salt                                   – As per your taste

Ginger Garlic Paste:

 

  • Clean and Wash (Ginger, Garlic, 2 Green chillies, 2 strands Coriander leaves)
  • Add these in a mixer Jar along with Cumin Seeds, Black Pepper, Coriander seeds
  • Grind them all together to a fine paste

Meat pre- Cook Preparation:

Cook under Medium Flame for 3 Whistles

    • Clean and Wash the meat
    • Add the clean Meat into a Pressure Cooker
    • Add ½ tbsp Red chilli Powder
    • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste 
    • 1 tbsp Salt
    • 1 Tablespoon Turmeric 
    • 200ml(1glass) Water
    • 3 tbsp Yogurt/Curd

Cooking Method:

  • Heat the Pot and add Oil
  • Add Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon , Cumin
  • Add finely Chopped Onion and Curry leaves
  • Stir few mins until onion turns transparent and brown
  • Add remaining Ginger/Garlic paste
  • Slit and add Green chilli
  • Stir them all until raw smell goes
  • Add Tomato puree to the masala
  • Stir all these ingredients in Medium flame for few mins until oil separates
  • Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, mutton masala and salt – stir them all for 2 mins to blend nicely
  • Add the Pre-cooked Meat to the masala and mix them well
  • Leave the meat to cook for 3 mins to get the masala flavour
  • Add meat stock into Masala
  • Add salt as per your taste
  • Leave the flame in medium to cook for 15- 20 mins
  • Occasionally stir the curry
  • Turn off the flame
  • Garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves.

Finally your Traditional Delicious Mutton curry is ready to serve. Enjoy to your full with family and friends…
