Raichur Chicken

Marination time : 30 mins (min)

Preparation Time: 30mins

Serves: 6-8 Nos

Goes well with : Rice,Chapati, Dosa, parotta

Ingredients:

  • Chicken                              – 1 Kg
  • Onion(Medium)                 – 2 Nos.
  • Tomato (Large)                 – 1 Nos.(optional)
  • Ginger                                – 2 Inches
  • Garlic                                 – 1 Bulb
  • Cloves                                – 4Nos
  • Green Cardamom            – 3Nos
  • Cinnamon                         – 1 Small piece
  • Fennel seeds                    – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon                               – 1 No
  • Yogurt(softens)                – 2 tbsp(optional)
  • Curry Leaves                    – 2 Strands
  • Coriander Leaves            – 5 Strands
  • Turmeric Powder             – 1 tbsp  
  • Red chilli Powder             – 1 tbsp (Add More if required)
  • Coriander Powder           – 1.5 tbsp
  • Chicken Masala powder – 2 tbsp
  • Water                               – 1 cup
  • Cooking Oil                      – 30 ml
  • Salt                                   – As per your taste

Ginger Garlic Paste:

  • Clean and Wash (Ginger, Garli)
  • Add these in a mixer Jar along with Fennel Seeds 
  • Grind them all together to a fine paste

Chicken Marination: 

 

  • Clean and Wash the chicken
  • Add ½ tbsp Red chilli Powder
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste 
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Turmeric 
  • Add lemon juice

Cooking Method:

 

  • Heat the Pot and add Oil
  • Add Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon , Fennel
  • Add finely Chopped Onion and Curry leaves
  • Stir few mins until onion turns transparent and brown
  • Add Ginger/Garlic paste
  • Stir them all until raw smell goes
  • Add Tomato to the masala
  • Stir all these ingredients in Medium flame until oil separates
  • Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, chicken masala and salt – stir them all for 2 mins to blend nicely
  • Add the marinated chicken to the masala and mix them well
  • Close the lid to cook well
  • Add salt as per your taste
  • Leave the flame in medium to cook for 15- 20 mins
  • Occasionally stir the gravy
  • Turn off the flame and garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves.
